Tomorrow Julia goes in for *hopefully* her final follow up for her knee surgery. She seems to be healing much slower this time but besides that there is nothing slow about this pup. She takes the stairs at lightening speed and can go from sofa to front door in less than a second. I can't believe she is going to be nine in a few weeks!
She and Abby have figured out how to navigate one another. They sleep curled up next to each other, one on top of the blanket, the other under. They only eat from their own bowls, but drink only from the others water bowl. Abby cries when Julia is gone and Julia gives Abby kisses each morning when she wakes.
However their true partnership is one in crime. Abby eats anything....whole lemons, rubber bands, plastic bags, toys, anything she can find on the counter. To keep her safe we use baby gates to keep the pups in a room we have Abby proofed while we are at work. Well Julia doesn't like to be confined, she wants to lay on the bed, look out the back window, check out the kitchen. So she just grabs a hold of the gate with her mouth and yanks, no more baby gate. Abby will rush in and start counter surfing pulling everything off the counters and they go to work. I got home from work the other day and Julia was on the kitchen floor sitting in a pizza box licking parmesan cheese off the floor. Abby had eaten everything else.
Such silly girls!
